Running route
One of the reasons that we really like Kingsbury is that there is a lot of
green space. I knew that there was a lot of undeveloped area about two blocks
south of us, but I had no idea that it was so large. I went for a run the
other day and explored a little deeper in the fields and found out that it
continues on much farther than I thought. I ran for 45 minutes and appart
from having to cross one street, I was following grass and forest trails
the whole time. They do an odd thing here, they cut the grass of fields
around their circumference and criss-cross the field with two cut paths
creating an X of cut grass if you're looking at it from above. So each
field (and there are a lot of fields) can be run around or through. It's
actually quite smart.
It made me happy, because I like to be able to get out and run on my own.
Most of London has big parks, but they are busy and loaded with people.
Our "park" is really semi-tended fields and forests, which I like.
Although I kept waiting for Robin Hood or Friar Tuck to jump out at me.
