Today Laura's Dad Brian, came to visit. He's just passing through on
his way to Germany for a work related trip. He puts together his own
travel schedules so he planned to have a day in London to allow for a
little visit.
Laura and I went to meet him at his posh hotel attached to Paddington
station. We were very jealous as his room was way bigger/fancier then
our flat. We basked in it's niceness and ate all of his complimentary
cookies, stole some toiletries and got a bucket of ice, just because
we could.
Because the hotel is attached to Paddington station, it is like 45
seconds from the Heathrow Express train, so it's rather convenient for
him.
Then we headed off to the Borough Market where we sampled a lot of
strong English cheeses and ate hamburgers.
Then it was on a bus to tour the city a bit before wandering through
Hyde park to the Princess Dianna Memorial Fountain. I took off my
shoes and socks and played in the water.
We brought him back to our flat in Kingsbury and he was nice enough to
have packed some Canadian goodies for us! We were so excited! Three
types of Kraft dinner, Maple syrup, Pancake mix and cookies.
Nope you can't get these here. Well not without spending an arm and a leg.
Afterwards we went to a nice restaurant just outside Leicester Square.
Great meal, and the building was interesting. It used to be a
court house, so you can go upstairs and see the old court rooms,
complete with witness boxes and Judges benches.
Because Brian was flying out early tomorrow morning, we dropped him
off at his comfy hotel and headed home. It was great to see him.
Here are all the pictures.
