Fruitstock
Yes, you read correctly. Fruitstock.
Last weekend we went to a free music festival in Regent's Park called Fruitstock.
It was sort of a random excuse to gather people together and listen to
music and buy various types of foods from vendors. There was a yoga
tent, a DJ tent, a flirting tent and a farmer's market. It wasn't too
busy, so we were able to find a nice spot to sit on our ground sheet
and eat organic pizza.
As you might imagine, the crowd was pretty hippy'ish. That is to say,
as hippy'ish as you can get in London, which isn't very. Hippies here
where high-heels and Versace.
We met up with some friends and lounged around. Turns out that 80
thousand people came to it. Crazy!
Afterwards we went and had a little BBQ at a friends place near Earl's
Court station on the south-west side of central London. The BBQ was
in fact a disposable charcoal BBQ, but it worked pretty well. We had
chicken, corn on the cob and grilled veggies. Very different from our
usual curry main-stay.
The next day we went to the National Science Museum beside Imperial
College, that was neat. Then we went and I bought new shoes. Laura
had bought some last week and I got jealous. They are Merrel shoes
which are pretty good. The soles are Vibram, which I've had before
and seem to last forever. We've had bad shoe-luck lately so we
figured we'd get good ones.
